Delete your account and data

Delete in the app

Open Plato and select Settings, then Delete account. Deletion ends the user agreement and cannot be undone.

Data we delete

Account deletion removes your account profile, authentication data, saved recipes and photos, plans including server-stored health and nutrition derivatives, shopping lists, cooking history, household memberships, invites, swipe data, feedback, error reports, push registrations, and data linked to your account in our active systems. We also enqueue durable deletion requests for associated PostHog data, recipe-image files, the RevenueCat subscriber record, and the Brevo contact. Temporary provider failures are retried automatically. Deleting the RevenueCat record does not cancel or refund an Apple or Google store subscription.

Direct health-related inputs such as allergies and dietary preferences are normally stored only on your device. Derivatives calculated for a health-personalised Smart Plan are instead stored with that plan on the server and are removed by account deletion. The app removes its local copy during the account-deletion flow; uninstalling additionally removes remaining app data under the operating system's rules.

Data that may remain

We may retain data where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Aggregated data that cannot be linked to a person may remain.

Subscriptions

Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play. Also cancel it in the subscription settings of the relevant store account to avoid further billing.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot delete your account in the app, email us from the address associated with your account at hello@joinplato.app using the subject "Account Deletion Request". We may request additional information where needed to verify your identity securely.
